If you are someone who is new to brow paint, many questions can arise, and it can feel scary to try something new that you may have only had done by a professional before. Here we have collected some of the most common questions we get out in the brow bars!
"How much color should I take?"
One of the first and most common questions we get. How much paint is needed varies from brow to brow depending on size and thickness, but a standard measure that we recommend is to use 1 cm of color paste . When you color your brows once, you will notice how much color is used, but in the beginning it may be good to take a little more than you think so that you can be careful to cover all the strands for an even coloration.
"How do I know which shade I should have?"
How dark you want your brows to be is very individual, but we at Rapide always recommend going a few shades darker than your own starting position, which gives both definition and shine to the face. Here is a guide for which color you can expect if you use the shades in our Brow Tint starter kit;
Soft Brown: Light brown shade
Soft Brown + Deep Brown: Medium, natural brown shade
Deep Brown: Dark brown shade
Deep Brown + Matt Black: Deep, brown-black shade
Matt Black: Dark, matte black shade
"How long will the color last?"
You can control the intensity of your color yourself by adjusting the effect time. A shorter working time gives a less covering result and thus a lighter shade, while a longer working time means that the color has time to penetrate and leave a darker shade. This is how you can think about the effective time;
3-4 minutes Gives a light toned effect - for those who only want a light refresh.
5-6 minutes Gives medium to natural coverage - for those who want a slightly deeper but still natural result.
8-10 minutes Deep and full coverage - for those who want an intensive, deep effect.
"How long does a dye last?"
How long the color lasts depends on several factors; how much you wash your face, how oily your hair is and how much exfoliating products you use, but one of the factors that determines the most is how long you let the color work. Combine the effect times with which color you choose to use and you will have full control over how long you want the color to last and look. If you use Rapides Brow Tint colours, you can expect;
3-4 min: The color lasts for approximately 1 week.
5-6 min: The color lasts for approximately 2-3 weeks.
8-10 min: The color lasts for approximately 3-4 weeks.
