Regardless of whether you have chosen a more natural or dramatic look with your lash extensions, you obviously want your result to remain attractive for as long as possible. If it is also the first time you are extending your lashes, it can be difficult to know how best to take care of them before the next return visit. Here we share with us our best tips for how to get your lash extensions to last the best!
1. Be careful!
It probably sounds obvious, but a lot of people don't understand how important it is to be very careful with your lash extensions. Your eyelashes have a natural growth cycle, which means that we naturally lose a few eyelashes every day - and the same applies to extended eyelashes. To avoid that you lose more than that, it is therefore important that you avoid rubbing your eyes, pulling on your lashes and that you are careful both when applying and removing make-up around your eyes.
2. Avoid this type of mascara!
Many people get eyelash extensions in order to avoid applying mascara at all, and this is of course also the most gentle thing for your extension. Especially for those of you who choose to get voluminous lashes where you risk tangling your lashes when you wash off the mascara.
If, on the other hand, you would like to be able to add an even more dramatic look to your lashes with the help of mascara, you should avoid using one with a waterproof formula. Washing off a waterproof mascara requires much more intensive rubbing and then you risk losing a majority of lashes prematurely. To keep your fine result longer, you should instead make sure to use a mascara that contains caring ingredients and that you can easily wash off.
3. Be careful about what your make-up remover contains.
If you use make-up remover or another form of cleaning around your eyes, you should be careful to ensure that the product does not contain any oils. Why? Oil breaks down the glue used during eyelash extensions and ensures that your lashes come off quickly. Our Cleansing foam is designed for gentle cleaning after eyelash treatments and works great to use even after eyelash extensions.
4. Clean and brush your lashes daily.
In order for your lash extension to last the best, it is very important that you make sure to keep your extension as clean as possible. Therefore, use a gentle and oil-free cleanser daily to avoid dirt and impurities spoiling your extension prematurely. After you have cleaned your lashes, it is also good to brush them through with a clean mascara brush to maintain both shape and volume and minimize the risk of them tangling.
